KL gangster 2 leak ?

The producer of KL Gangster 2, Datuk Yusof Haslam , will take legal action against the person responsible for illegally uploading the film on YouTube before its scheduled screening on Oct 3.

Yusof said he and his son Syamsul, the director of the film, were gathering evidence, which would be handed over to the police.

“We have a few clues about the mastermind behind this but we are not making any reckless accusations.

“We will leave it to the authorities to conduct the investigation,” he told reporters during a press conference at the National Film Development Corporation (Finas) building here yesterday.

Yusof and Syamsul lodged a report at the Taman Melawati police station last Wednesday after 70% of the film was uploaded on YouTube.

They said they were outraged by the illegal upload, which could result in substantial losses.

The film was delayed by two years because of editing, which became a bone of contention between Yusof and Syamsul.

Yusof said it was common for him and his son to disagree but that had nothing to do with the incident.

“As a producer in charge of the company’s finances, of course I want it to be completed soon but my son wanted better quality for viewers, which led to the delay,” he said.

KL Gangster 2 is the sequel to the box-office hit KL Gangster which grossed RM12mil in box-office takings.

KL Gangster cost RM2.5 million and involved 38 days of filming while KL Gangster 2 cost RM4.5 million and filming took 68 days.
